Your Role: Financial and administrative director
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Financial Planning and Budgeting Manager to enhance our financial growth and budgeting processes. This person will play a key role in shaping Abbove’s financial strategy, optimizing our financial processes, and fostering a culture of both growth and rigor. The ideal candidate will have experience in fundraising, treasury management, and financial analysis, along with a passion for automating financial processes and improving efficiency. This role demands a strong financial background, SaaS expertise, fintech knowledge, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic startup environment.
Key responsibilities
- Budgeting and Financial Planning: develop and secure board approval for annual budgets, aiming for a two-year cycle, and engage in strategic financial planning to support growth.
- Financial Management and Analysis : oversee cash management, assess financial risks, and conduct profitability analyses for the organization and clients. Ensure real-time tracking of financial KPIs, allowing for data-driven decision-making and transparency across the organization
- Stakeholder Relations: act as the primary liaison with the board on financial matters, manage relationships with banks and external auditors, and support compliance with regulations.
- Fundraising and Growth Strategies: identify funding opportunities and create strategies for financial retention and growth, including pricing strategies and negotiations. Present and defend pricing models to large institutional clients
- Process Improvement and Automation: lead initiatives to automate financial & sales processes, create financial dashboards, and ensure comprehensive client tracking through the CRM to create a centralized, seamless client journey from acquisition to retention.
- Cross-Functional Support and Incentives: support organizational initiatives such as salary policy standardization and the launch of stock options for employees and management.
- Collaborate with external auditors to ensure regulatory compliance and successful audits.
- Establish automated financial dashboards to track critical SaaS metrics such as Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR), churn rate, Customer Lifetime Value (LTV), and real-time budgeting and cash projections to guide strategic decisions.
- Oversee quarterly financial closings, annual indexing, and regulatory reporting.
Required skills and expertise
- Experience: At least 5-10 years of experience in finance, with substantial time as a CFO or Head of Finance within a SaaS or fintech startup. Proven expertise in managing banking relationships and external audits.
- Technical Skills: Strong grasp of budgeting, cash flow management, and automation tools. Familiarity with CRM systems like HubSpot and financial software.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
- Analytical Strength: Ability to build robust financial models, evaluate KPIs, and anticipate financing needs. Experience in tracking and optimizing SaaS-specific metrics (MRR, LTV, CAC, churn).
- Leadership: Collaborative approach with the CEO, board, and cross-functional teams. Experience in scaling operations and implementing financial discipline in a high-growth environment.
- Strategic and Negotiation Abilities: Expertise in pricing strategy for B2B SaaS, with strong negotiation skills to manage relationships with major institutional clients.
Languages: Proficiency in French and English, Dutch is a plus.
